Gleyber Torres is the latest Yankee to have an injury scare.
He left their game on Friday against Toronto before the seventh inning, although the Yankees didn’t announce a reason.
But the second baseman gave them reason to worry in the top of the fourth, when he made a sliding stop of Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s grounder, got up and then slipped, with his right leg giving out on him.
Torres stayed on the ground briefly before getting up and being checked out by trainer Steve Donohue and Aaron Boone.
He remained in the game and flied to left in the bottom of the inning and struck out in the sixth before leaving before the top of the seventh.
DJ LeMahieu moved from third base to second and Gio Urshela entered at third.
Torres has been invaluable to the Yankees in his first full season in the majors, with a team-high 38 homers that has helped them survive the loss of so many parts of the lineup.
The Yankees now hope Torres isn’t the latest key player to be lost to injury.
