A sick UK boy who told his mother that he’s had “enough of life” has received an outpouring of birthday wishes in an effort to lift his spirits, according to a report.
Rhys Williams was sent 10,000 cards after his mom, Tanya, made headlines last week asking for help giving him hope ahead of his 14th birthday, the Mirror reported.
Williams suffers from a rare skin condition that has limited his ability to walk and move — and had told his mother that he wished “a butterfly would come and take him away.”
“The last few months, he’s had enough of life. He’s had enough of being in pain with the sores,” his mom said. “He just wants to give up, he doesn’t want to fight anymore.”
She asked people to help cheer him up by sending birthday cards, prompting thousands of well-wishers to send messages to his Lancashire, England home, the outlet reported.
“He is loving it, he is so happy,” Tanya told the Mirror. “It restores your faith in humanity.”
