Rams, Jared Goff reach four-year contract extension

It is a busy time for NFL extensions, and Jared Goff has his.

The Rams signed their franchise quarterback to a four-year deal, according to multiple reports Tuesday, keeping the 24-year-old in Los Angeles until 2024.

The terms of the contract have yet to be announced.

The former No. 1 overall pick threw for 32 touchdowns last season, and has blossomed under head coach Sean McVay. The two led the Rams to the Super Bowl LIII, where they lost to the Patriots.

When asked of locking up Goff earlier this summer, GM Les Snead told reporters, “Not a matter of if, it’s just when.”

Goff’s extension comes as many around the league are working out their own. Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot, who unlike Goff held out of training camp this summer, is reportedly close to signing an extension.
