TORONTO — Two games back from a second trip to the injured list and Gary Sanchez took a foul tip off his bare hand Saturday and got drilled in the left elbow Sunday.
“A little sore,’’ Sanchez said of the elbow that received treatment following Sunday’s 1-0 win over the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.
Sanchez, who caught Saturday and was the DH on Sunday, got hit with a pitch in the sixth inning to load the bases and batted in the ninth when he struck out.
“We will keep an eye on him,’’ Aaron Boone said. “I think he is going to be OK. As a hitter, no pad there, that’s that one that kind of wears on you. You want to try and get the swelling out of there. It can stiffen up on you. I am not worried about it kind of long term but overnight, how we treat it and get that swelling out.’’
