Stumping 2020 candidates get grubby at Iowa State Fair

Mayor Bill de Blasio wasn’t the only one pigging out at the Iowa State Fair last week.

Hizzoner downed a sizable corn dog, veggie “totchos” — nachos using tater tots in place of tortilla chips — an ice cream bar and a lemonade at the fair, a cornucopia of delicious delights.

His fellow presidential hopefuls also spent the weekend chowing down.

Andrew Yang, whose campaign is underpinned by the promise of a $1,000-per-month “freedom dividend” for all American adults, on Friday demolished a roast turkey leg in between sips from massive plastic cup.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) had to look high-and-low in the heartland for something to fit his vegan diet Saturday, but ultimately found a “golden fried” peanut butter and jelly sandwich — served on a stick, naturally — according to USA Today.

“It’s a little slice of heaven,” Booker told reporters — and apparently it was good enough for seconds, as he quickly ordered another.

Booker was perhaps tipped off to the spot by Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who hit the same stand Friday, USA Today noted.

In addition to the obligatory fried PB&J, Gabbard, also vegetarian, snagged a veggie corn dog.
