Marriott shuttle-bus crashes near Seattle’s Sea-Tac Airport

One person was killed and seven others were injured Thursday when a car zoomed across a median at Seattle’s Sea-Tac Intentional Airport and rammed into a hotel shuttle bus.

Officials believe the car was heading southbound on International Boulevard around 1 p.m. local time when it crossed the center line and hit the Seattle Airport Marriott shuttle, causing it to flip on its side, The Seattle Times reported.

The body of the 45-year-old man who died was pulled from the under the rear passenger side of the bus shortly before 4 p.m.

The shuttle’s windshield was smashed in the incident and it was missing its right side windows.

Two injured people, including the car’s driver, were taken to Highline Medical Center.

Two others, men ages 50 and 62, were taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. Another two victims were taken to a third hospital and one person who was injured refused treatment.

A total of eight passengers were on the shuttle at the time of the crash. The driver was the only person in the car.

It’s still unclear what caused the collision.
